REMINDER: Annual Membership Meeting

FSFSA annual members meeting will be held on Saturday September 10th at 1300 (1PM EST) until 1700 (5pm) at the PAVILLION at the Withlacoochee Training Center with our Executive Board meeting starting at 10AM. Light lunch and refreshments will be provided. This meeting is open to and encouraged that ALL members attend. (Let us know so we can plan meals, handouts, shirts, etc. accordingly).
At the annual members meetingwe will decide FSFSA S-20 local, agency, state, and national priorities to push for as well as vote on and approve our annual budget. STARTING AUGUST 10TH UNTIL SEPT 9TH1700 ANY RESOLUTIONS OR PROPOSED CHANGES TO OUR FSFSA BYLAWS need to be submitted to Mike Dvorack at email@example.com for consideration of the members present.
At this meeting any issues for contract negotiations presented will be discussed, prioritized, and voted on by the members PRESENT. Hopefully we have a good turnout so not just a handful of people decide what issues we are pushing with the agencies and legislators. We will plan on having guest from deferred comp, legal, etc. their for our members. If you would like to have guest speakers or presenters let us know and we will try and make it happen, just email or call us.

Currently the IAFF is having technical issues with getting new and duplicate IAFF membership cards to the membership. As soon as it is corrected cards will be sent out to our membership.

Local S-20 Membership Drive
Members and Previous Members,
On July 1st 2015 until August 1st 2015, Local S-20 will be having a grace period for former members who wish to rejoin. During this time, all back dues will be waved and the previous member will be able to rejoin. As well as previous members, all those interested in becoming a new member can join with the initiation fee waved. IAFF Local S-20
Our organization is dedicated to representing state employees whose job duties center on the protection and well being of the citizens of Florida. Our members include Fire service personnel from 5 state agencies.
Firefighters from the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Florida Forest Service. Forestry firefighters provide wildland fire protection, expertise with prescribed fire for private landowners and disaster response to the public in the State of Florida. They also regularly provide firefighting personnel to fight wildfires all over the United States. Florida wildfires Google
Fire service personnel from the Department of Financial Services. These fire professionals include fire training professionals from the Florida State Fire College located in Lowell Forida and Fire Protection Specialists assigned to the State Fire Marshal's Office. These professionals provide training & certification for fire service personnel from throughout the state as well as inspection of all state facilities around the state. In addition they provide emergency disaster response teams (RIAT) and SAR for the all too frequent natural disasters that occur in Florida.
Firefighters from the Department of Children and Families. These structural firefighters provide fire and EMS services to the Florida State Mental Hospital in Chattahoochee Florida and surrounding area.
Fire Protection Specialists assigned to the Agency for Health Care Administration. These fire professionals are responsible for ensuring the fire safety of all hospitals and nursing homes throughout the state.
Firefighters from the Department of Military Affairs. These professionals provide firefighting services at Camp Blanding. Camp Blanding is a large National Guard base located near Stark.
